Isoscaling and its Statistical Interpretation

چکیده
The scaling properties of cross sections for fragment production with respect to the isotopic composition of the emitting systems were studied long ago in light-ion induced reactions [1]. Recently, the isoscaling was also reported for heavy-ion reactions [2]. It is constituted by the exponential dependence of the production ratios R21 for fragments with neutron number N and proton number Z in reactions with different isospin asymmetry:

Systematic study of isoscaling behavior in projectile fragmentation by the statistical abrasion-ablation model
The isospin effect and isoscaling behavior in projectile fragmentation have been systematically investigated by a modified statistical abrasion-ablation (SAA) model. The normalized peak differences and reduced isoscaling parameters are found to decrease with (Zproj −Z)/Zproj or the excitation energy per nucleon and have no significant dependence on the size of reaction systems. Assuming a Fermi...
متن کاملIsoscaling in statistical models
Different statistical multifragmentation models have been used to study isoscaling, i.e., the factorization of the isotope ratios from two reactions, into fugacity terms of proton and neutron number, R21(N ,Z) 5Y 2(N ,Z)/Y 1(N ,Z)5C exp(aN1bZ). Even though the primary isotope distributions are quite different from the final distributions due to evaporation from the excited fragments, the values...
متن کاملDynamical aspects of isotopic scaling
Investigation of the effect of dynamical stage established that the increasing width of initial Gaussian distributions is reflected by significant modification of the slope of final isoscaling plots after deexcitation. For narrow initial Gaussian distributions, the slope of isoscaling plots assumes the limiting value for two individual initial nuclei while for wide initial Gaussian distribution...
متن کاملConditions for Isoscaling in Nuclear Reactions
Isoscaling, where ratios of isotopes emitted from two reactions exhibit an exponential dependence on the neutron and proton number of the isotope, has been observed over a variety of reactions including evaporation, strongly damped binary collision, and multifragmentation. The conditions for isoscaling to occur as well as the conditions when isoscaling fails are investigated. Typeset using REVTEX
متن کاملDynamical aspects of isoscaling
The origin and dynamical evolution of isoscaling was studied using classical molecular dynamics simulations of Ca + Ca, Ca + Ca, and Ca + Ca, at beam energies ranging from 20 MeV/A to 85 MeV/A. The analysis included a study of the time evolution of this effect. Isoscaling was observed to exist in these reactions from the very early primary isotope distributions (produced by highly non-equilibra...
